Nippon Koei Energy Solutions Acquires Tractebel Engineering’s Companies

Enhancing energy consulting capabilities across Southeast Asia has become one of the long-term management strategies of ID&E Holdings, as the parent company of Nippon Koei Energy Solutions (NKES), in the energy business sector. NKES has taken an important strategic step by acquiring the shares of Tractebel Engineering Co., Ltd. (Thailand) and PT. Tractebel Engineering Indonesia (Indonesia), that previously are associated company of Tractebel Engineering S.A.
Vision and Global Trajectory
Since 2017, NKES has been advancing battery storage and aggregation business in Europe. Building on this expertise, NKES is committed to expanding its energy solutions across Japan and Asia, with a strong focus on reinforcing its operational presence in Southeast Asia.
To accelerate its Southeast Asia growth strategy, NKES has completed the acquisition of Tractebel Engineering Co., Ltd. (Thailand) and PT. Tractebel Engineering Indonesia (Indonesia), two companies that earned high recognition and trust in Southeast Asia for their capabilities in feasibility studies, design, and supervision of renewable energy, hydropower, gas, and transmission as well as distribution projects.
The Strategic Acquisition
This strategic move positions these companies to deliver greater value to clients and contribute to the region’s sustainable energy future. These combined strengths are expected to deliver comprehensive solutions that meet diverse client needs and generate new value, contributing to the realization of a decarbonized society.
Tractebel Engineering Co., Ltd. (Thailand) and PT. Tractebel Engineering Indonesia (Indonesia) will be renamed Nippon Koei Energy Thailand Co., Ltd. and PT. Nippon Koei Energy Indonesia.
