What We Do In That Event ?

Jakarta – The 9^th edition of the World Hydropower Congress was held in Bali, Indonesia from October 31^st to November 2^nd 2023. The event was organized by the International Hydropower Association (IHA) in partnership with the Government of Indonesia and the state electricity provider, PLN. The main theme of was 'Powering Sustainable Growth'. For the opening of this event, President Jokowi graced the World Hydropower Congress, expressing his hope that this Congress would become a collaborative forum for generating policy recommendations and increasing investment in hydropower for a sustainable green economy.

The event was attended by over a thousand delegates, including CEOs, investors, civil society leaders, international financial institutions, and the global media from around 100 countries. Nippon Koei (NK) with PT. Indokoei International (IKI) joined the event as an exhibitor. NK and IKI displayed several features, such as the Innovation Corner, where the exhibitor can promote, introduce, and have a brief discussion with the audience through the Question-and-Answer session. In addition, the event also offered an Innovation Hub, where exhibitors can post their information or promotional materials on IHA website.

In this event, NK showed its technical expertise in major dam and hydropower development projects built all over the world, including Indonesia. NK described its capability to provide services for Master Plans, Feasibility Studies, Detailed Design, Construction Supervision, Technology Building Information Modeling (BIM), Research and Technology, and many more.

One of the technologies from NK that attracted the visitor’s attention was the demonstration of BIM. This demonstration allows the visitor to try the virtual reality (VR) device and experience exploring the 3D design of the Asahan 3 HEPP project of NK. This BIM implementation of Asahan 3 HEPP is a pioneer of BIM for hydropower projects.

BIM is a transformative 3D model-based process that enhances infrastructure planning, design, construction, and management. It ensures data consistency, accuracy, and accessibility throughout the project lifecycle. BIM can seamlessly integrate into every stage of a hydropower project, from inception to operation and maintenance.
